I'm Rachel DeMille, co-author of the TJEd materials with my husband Oliver DeMille. I'm thrilled about the opportunities this Community affords us. Whether you are Just Getting Started and have tons of questions about how to apply the principles of Leadership Education, or are a seasoned veteran who wants to refine the skills of mentoring, you will find valuable resources and relationships here.

Here are a couple of helpful links:
New to TJEd
Orientation for this site

I highly recommend you have a look at our sister site, TJEdOnline. There are many free resources there, like Oliver's Update and Rachel's "Mine", which are listings of our new essays, The Phases Resource Library and Kidschool helps, etc. Also, free pdf downloads from the TJEd books are available there. And for those who want them, there are premium services available for a low monthly subscription.

I am so happy to be on the Leadership Education path with you. We all benefit from each other's growth and insight. Your contribution here and in your community truly do make a difference.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can help in any way. I look forward to getting to know you, and thank you in advance for enriching this experience for all of us here.

Warmly,
Rachel DeMille

A Day on the Educational Conveyor Belt

I spent last Saturday experiencing something completely new, in an all-too familiar environment. I was fortunate to be asked by a former drama teacher of mine to be a judge for the District drama competition. It's an all-day event when drama students from many local schools come together to be judged and s… Continue

Are you worried your son may have ADHD or is Hyperactive?

I wanted to share a book that I read when I was going through a very trying time with one of my sons. This son's struggles have really led us to reach for answers that are right for him without labeling him. He is bright, creative, mathematically minded, resourceful, helpful, good with his hands, capable of manual tasks well beyond his years, truly gifted in so many ways yet struggles with an enormous amount of frustration. He is extremely active, emotive, and impulsive. He feels o… Continue

I usually ended up having a great time exercising, but when I would come home and by the time the children got up, I was ready for bed again. I did not like this feeling, and one day… Continue

Goodness gracious, even on audiobook I'm having trouble getting through it!!! But, I keep on pluggin' away :) I've been introduced to the "radicals", and am now drowning in yet another lesson in French history and politics (which I have no clue ab...

Well, as long as you asked.... :) I don't have any knowledge about GWU's financial status or the business of its Board. If there are some difficulties with the college itself, well, that strikes me as pretty "TJ" in an ironic sort of way. Thomas ...

Come learn about Williamsburg Academy, an online high school available to youth around the country. We are getting a leadership education as we prepare to change the world for the better. We'd love to discuss this with the TJed community!

Did you have some particular topic or concern you wanted to discuss? Any particular points the "gentleman" makes that you feel are worth exploring from an education standpoint? Any of the TJEd principles that don't seem to be on target or effectiv...
